I think it’s important to understand that the construction of race from religion is a bit more subtle than a decision, Chaseleffers, but you’re on the right track here. Note that while whiteness is created out of euro-imperial Christianity, whiteness does not only benefit Christians in what’s now the United States. How do we account for this, and why does it matter?
